If Dr Li-Meng Yan the Hong Kong virologist is correct in saying that the Chinese army intentionally released SARS-Cov-2 it would be because they have studied the behaviour of our politicians and their relationship to private corporations. They will also have noted the love of money and low value placed on human life by our ruling classes - not only the lives of foreigners but also of their own people. It is very unlikely that the central Chinese government would release this virus. Their Geo-political plans are progressing well. It would be an independent army operation like the Japanese Manchurian incident in 1931, the USA's Iran-Contra affair and probably the Honduran coup.. Nevertheless, the Chinese are a subtle people who are planning long-term in the army as well as the central government. They know of the way in which Europeans have treated non-Europeans for hundreds of years and have direct experience of how Europeans treated them as vassals. The Chinese have lost face to Europe and America. At present they are highly motivated to regain it and are succeeding. Aggressive army personnel, so motivated, might very well have used SARS-Cov-2 as Dr Li-Meng Yan has said and in a subtle manner consistent with their culture and the strategy of Sun Tzu.. It should be noted that China eliminated SARS-Cov-2 without vaccines and is back to normal with its economy recovered and thriving. I mention the the geo-political context to the virus because as long as I can recall UK governments have been hopelessly inadequate in that context. The parliamentary bubble is of village-level geo-political competence and, well, competence in anything useful or we would not be be adding to our nuclear arsenal while we have charitable food banks. What Parliament is good at is making the rich richer, which is the basis of our present problem. We are in serious trouble.
I have a video of Patrick Vallance's interview of 13 March with Sky News' Stephen Dixon. Mr Vallance asserts that the the government has a panel of world-leading scientists and leading academics from many disciplines. They have a Plan that does what they want to do. To be brief, this is to allow infection to spread to about 60% of the population at which point 'herd imunity' is likely. Voluntary self-isolation will moderate the spread. Mass gatherings aren’t very important to infections. They want enough people who get mild illness to become immune, get herd immunity and protect everybody. They think that this is a seasonal virus that will come back every year. Mr Vallance says “...So we want to suppress it (the virus), not get rid of it completely, which you can’t do anyway. Not suppress it so you get the second peak and allow enough of us who’ll get a mild illness to become immune to this to help with the sort of whole population response which would protect everybody”. His interviewer, Mr Dixon, shows some incredulity at what he is hearing and asks for clarification of the government's estimated death figures of 0.5 - 1% of the population (300,000 - 600,000 deaths, the reason for the Nightingale hospitals). Mr Vallance avoids the figures, saying, "...of course we do face the prospect as the Prime Minister said yesterday that we do face the prospect of an increasing number of people dying. That is a real prospect. This is a nasty disease. For most people it's a mild disease..." He dismisses advice from the Italian Prime Minister not to waste time, because he says they've been working hard on this since early January. They have a path. They're preparing advice that is based on the science. "My job as Chief Scientific Adviser," says Mr Vallance, "Is to speak scientific truth to power." That was Mr Vallance's, SAGE's and the government's scientific truth and Mr Vallance’s conception of speaking truth to power. Of course it is theoretically possible to achieve ‘herd immunity’ in a herd of animals or even a herd of humans, as these people envision us, by permitting infection to continue at the cost of many deaths. It’s scientific but it’s not moral or compassionate in the case of humans. It’s not what being human is about. It wasn’t a theoretical matter to Captain Tom who probably died of it. Nor is it to me, which is why I object to it. By early January 2020 it was known that in China, Covid-19 was killing smokers, the elderly and the weak in health. In the UK smokers are usually of low socio-economic class and often in poor health. Together with the weak and elderly these are the people that SAGE and Mr Vallance are letting die. I find myself in a class of people who are deemed to have little or no utilitarian value and can be dispensed with. All for the greater good of course. We’ve heard this before about Iraq and the Middle Eastern oil producing countries. It results in a lot of people dying and a few people making a lot of money. In the past it was foreigners. Now it's here.
The well-informed and well-off experts of SAGE have the detailed knowledge as well as the financial means to protect themselves and their families both from infection and in maintaining health. At least they could have given the rest of us the knowledge and some certified FFP2 masks. The Chinese government, whom we accuse of authoritarianism and human rights violations, protected its population with every public health measure at its disposal. In particular it had an intensive public information and motivation campaign. The Chinese extinguished SARS-Cov-2 without a vaccine by, among other means, public engagement and motivation. SAGE and other eminent ‘experts’ say to this day, with Mr Vallance, that the UK can’t completely extinguish the virus because of its open borders. They should notice that the UK is an island entity. It was done in China, a much larger and more populous country with far greater borders to other countries. It was not a medical or public health decision to ignore standard public health measures appropriate to this pandemic. It was a commercial decision by an aspirational elite to pursue a mass vaccination policy for the benefit of the pharmaceutical sector and their personal advantage. Would they have taken the same action in the case of ebola for example? I don’t think so. Ebola kills everyone, not just a few groups that they aren’t in. Ignore their protestations. Concentrate on what they actually did. Remember how Tony Blair went to war to free the Iraqi people by killing a million or more of them. The great success that he claimed was getting rid of one man, Saddam Hussein. Iraq is still a disaster area but Mr Blair is doing very well and has generously given us his expert advice on the behaviour of vaccines against SARS-Cov-2. That’s the great value of a depersonalised statistical figure for mass deaths, which is what’s happening in the UK. We think that five or six deaths and a few thousand known infections per day is wonderful because we recently had about 1,700 deaths per day. I speak to friends in Australia. Perth locked down recently for about two weeks for one infection that originated from a quarantine hotel. That is the danger of each infection. One must take the view that every infection is an opportunity for the virus to multiply, adapt and mutate. It is the great flaw in the ‘herd immunity’/ mass vaccination plan. With a large number of infections there is a correspondingly higher probability of getting variants with more dangerous characteristics. With many variants and the possibility of viral recombination (as above) a chaotic pattern of infection could develop. Vaccines are considerably less than 100% effective so every case is potentially an opportunity for the virus to develop resistance - not necessarily of the same type in every variant. The safe and practical means of gaining control is to reduce the total number of infections by non-pharmaceutical means. I told my MP Chris Philp that the aim should be to reduce total infections, not increase them with ‘herd immunity’ in March 2020. This is not virology. It is the common sense that Boris Johnson says we should use.
That was the Plan. They had wasted the time from early January to the end of March, about three months doing nothing. In March 2020 all they did was to tell people with symptoms to self-isolate and for new arrivals to the country to quarantine themselves at home - after travelling there on public transport. Boris Johnson said that the common sense of the British People would suffice but gave no information and training on which our common sense could be based, much less certified UK made masks. They also contemplated with equanimity the deaths of 300-600,000 people, a figure Patrick Vallance delicately avoided, while their 'herd immunity' plan ran it's course. They would take no practical action whatever - only issue inadequate instructions for the population to follow at the 'right time'. It was all nonsense and their Plan had to be abandoned, overtly at least. They stopped talking about 'herd immunity' but still did nothing except issue instructions and order lockdowns when death levels and infection rates became alarming and eventually took some reluctant and ineffective border and quarantine action. They did, however, place vaccine orders and that was part of the Plan. Vaccines were to save the country, the government would take the credit, the pharmaceutical companies would be richer and grateful, everyone would be happy and it would be sad that people had to die to achieve plaudits to the government and wealth to the pharmaceutical companies.
